SDG Group, a leading consulting firm specializing in artificial intelligence and data, has implemented an innovative AI solution for NeuronUP, the leading platform for cognitive assessment and stimulation. NeuronUP was recently recognized as SME of the Year 2025 in La Rioja, highlighting its strong commitment to innovation and its contribution to the local economy.
SDG Group worked to optimize NeuronUP’s cognitive assessment and rehabilitation platform through the integration of artificial intelligence. As a result, professionals using the platform have been able to reduce the time required to prepare patient follow-up reports by up to 70%.
Until recently, psychologists and neuropsychologists wrote patient progress reports manually. Thanks to the new AI integration with NeuronUP, a first automated draft of the report can now be generated in seconds based on objective and quantifiable data. The professional retains full control of the process by reviewing and refining the final document, ensuring clinical rigor while reinforcing the essential role of expert judgment.
The solution is powered by the metrics provided by NeuronUP Score, NeuronUP’s scoring system that reflects user performance during neurostimulation and neurorehabilitation activities across different areas of intervention. Using this data, AI generates a structured narrative supported by statistical insights on patient progress and performance trends.
The result is faster, more precise, and multilingual follow-up reports capable of distinguishing even between different Spanish variants, such as European Spanish and Latin American Spanish.
“The integration of artificial intelligence into our processes represents a natural step in NeuronUP’s evolution toward more efficient, precise, and professional-centered cognitive assessment and rehabilitation,” said Íñigo Fernández de Piérola, CEO of NeuronUP. “Thanks to our collaboration with SDG Group, we have been able to automate part of the report-generation process without ever replacing the role of the professional, whose supervision and clinical judgment remain essential. This advancement not only helps us optimize time, but also allows us to dedicate more resources to what truly matters: personalizing and improving the quality of care for each patient.”
“At SDG Group, we believe artificial intelligence is a catalyst for transforming data into actionable knowledge,” said Ferrán Puchol, Head of Life Sciences for Spain at SDG Group. “Our collaboration with NeuronUP perfectly illustrates this approach: automating report generation not only streamlines processes but also elevates the quality of both clinical and operational analysis.
“The ability of AI to integrate and analyze complex data comprehensively – from patient medical histories to research outcomes – opens new opportunities to improve personalized care, optimize the operational efficiency of healthcare centers, and strengthen research methodologies,” Puchol added.
To deliver a robust and reliable system capable of avoiding inconsistencies or subjective assessments, SDG Group incorporated its internal accelerators into the project. One of these is InsightsGen, a solution designed to transform raw data into processed information. This generative AI tool ensures responses that are free from the hallucinations often associated with some generative models.
Among the main benefits of the new solution are:
The architecture is both scalable and modular. It is currently available to NeuronUP professionals depending on their subscription plan, and its modular design means it could also be applied in other internal areas of the company for report generation in the future.
In future phases, the platform is expected to incorporate medical histories, enable comparisons of results by age and gender, and even recommend new activities or personalized treatments.
“Given our strong relationship of trust with SDG Group, we are also developing a new intelligence layer based on embeddings – a way of transforming data into vectors that give meaning to language models,” said Fernández de Piérola. “This technology will allow us to better understand the relationships between users and activities and offer increasingly personalized experiences through our recommendation systems.”
