Happy Birthday iPhone!

Today is the iPhone’s birthday, the product that has marked a worldwide revolution just turned 5. It was January 9, 2007 when Steve Jobs announced, in a historical presentation (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uW-E496FXg&feature=share), this new device that is not only an "object", which shortly thereafter would become indispensable in everyday life, but it is rather a new concept. The idea behind the product was, in fact, that of a hybrid with the functions of three different devices: an iPod with audio, picture and video playback capability, a mobile phone with a Wi-Fi connection and a "handheld" with built-in Web browsing (via the Safari browser) and totally touch-screen. Time crowned the iPhone as the invention of the year.

And today, after 5 years, where are we now?

Companies and markets are changing and decision-makers need high performance and usable tools to guide the company's business in this dynamic economic context. These tools have to be intuitive and highly integrated into business processes, accessible from any platform and able to turn data into information.

With SDG we had the opportunity to realize some projects of mobile applications in the Telco industry aimed at providing the ability to never lose "even a bit of information" and to monitor the conduct of business at any time and from anywhere, for Top Management.

In the world of telecommunications, the "physical" part is achieved (up to the launch of 4G mobile) so we should focus now on "customer". Every single customer is a source of income and therefore should be "Protected", "Run" and "Monitor."

What we produced is a Business Intelligence portal dedicated to C-Level, able to offer a synthetic view of the indicators of the company's business, that is both a picture of how the company is moving and also a view in more detail at corporate or subsidiaries level.
